Pick an actor photography session that fits your needs
If you’ve been headshot shopping before or are in the middle of a long search, you’ve probably noticed the vast range of prices and packages out there. Each headshot photographer has their own personal recipe for calculating their prices, from studio costs to experience and exposure.
While it’s important to find a photographer that fits your budget, it’s equally if not more important to find a human you feel comfortable (and even excited) about working with. If you love their work, you get their vibe, and you think they could give you the images you need plus an enjoyable experience, you’re golden. That will set you up for a better shoot no matter who you book with.
When I set my prices, I consider my experience, the value my work brings to each client, and the less-than-lovely business expense piece.
So take a look. If you don’t see a package that fits your needs, let me know. I’d be happy to see what we can do to get you where you want to go.
Each actor headshot package comes with the following:
a consultation to discuss your needs, personal brand, and goals
access to a private online gallery of raw images to share with your network
at least one retouched image
additional image retouching for $50 per image
Actor Headshot FAQs
Do actors still need headshots?
Yes, headshots are still a crucial part of an actor's toolkit. With digital portfolios and online casting platforms more prevalent, headshots remain essential for actors to present themselves professionally to casting directors, agents, and other industry professionals. Headshots are often the casting director's first impression of an actor, so having high-quality and up-to-date headshots is vital for submitting to auditions and roles.
What type of headshot do actors need?
Actors typically need a variety of headshots to showcase their versatility and suitability for different roles. Here are some common types of headshots actors may require:
Theatrical Headshot: This type of headshot captures the actor's essence and personality while also conveying their ability to portray dramatic or serious roles. The focus is on the actor's face and expression, with minimal distractions.
Commercial Headshot: Commercial headshots are more friendly, approachable, and often feature a smile. These headshots are used for roles in commercials, advertisements, and lighter content. They may also showcase the actor's ability to convey warmth and reliability.
Full-Length Shot: While not strictly a headshot, a full-length shot can be useful for showcasing an actor's physique, posture, and overall appearance. This type of shot may be required for roles that involve physicality or specific body types.
Can I take my own actor headshots?
While it's possible to take your own headshots, working with a professional photographer can provide you with expertise, equipment, and guidance to ensure that your headshots meet industry standards and effectively showcase your talent and personality. It’s hard to focus on the moment while trying to consider lighting, framing, and angles all at the same time.
